What Is Database And Its Advantages And Disadvantages

Introduction to database  We live in the age of information technology. The explosive growth of computer usage during the last twenty years is unrivalled by any other type of human expansion in recorded history. From times immemorial, when the mankind had its existence, the data is being used, the data which is collection of raw facts, figures etc. is used at every instance of time, one way or the other. To use this data, it has to be processed, so that we can derive meaningful conclusions. This processed data is known as information.  The data has to be stored, retrieved, modified and maintained. Traditionally, the data was maintained manually, stored in fields, updated and retrieved as and when required. This causes a lot of problems like volume of data, storage, access etc. which are reduced to a great extent due to use of computer. Traditionally, data is maintained as collection of records i.e. Files.  These files are collection of related data and records. Database is the collec

What Is Wimax -Advantages And Disadvantages ?

WiMAX is an IP based, wireless broadband access technology that provides performance similar to Wi-Fi netw with the coverage and QOS (quality of service) of cellular networks. WiMAX is also an acronym meaning "World-wide-Web Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX)." WIMAX can provide broadband wireless access (BWA) up to 30 miles (50 km) for fixed stations, and 3-10 m (5-15 km) for mobile stations. In contrast, the WiFi wireless local area network standard is limited in most cases only 100-300 feet (30-100m). In practical terms, WiMAX would operate similar to WiFi but at higher speeds, over greater distances and for a greater number of users. A WIMAX system consists of two parts: A WIMAX tower, similar in concept to a cell-phone tower.  A single WiMAX tower can a very large area-as big as 3,000 square miles (- 8,000 square km). A WIMAX receiver-the receiver and antenna could be a small box or PCMCIA card, or they could be built into a laptop the way WiFi access is today

Difference Between Wifi And Wifi Hotspot ?

Wifi Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity. Wi-Fi is wireless technology which enable connection between two or more devices wirelessly for data sharing purposes. Wi-Fi is a simple, cost-effective way to connect to the Internet, to other computers and to other Wi-Fi-enabled devices (such as Mobile Phones), without the need to physically connect wires between the two computers/devices.  It is now being used by millions of people using various devices such as personal computers, laptops, pdas', printers, camera, games, mp3 players etc.  A wireless network uses radio waves, just like cell phones, televisions and radios do. In fact communication across a wireless network is a lot like two-way radio communication as follows:  1. A computer's wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits it using an antenna.  2. A wireless router receives the signal and decodes it. The router sends the information to the Internet using a physical, wired ethernet connection.  The pro
